Grayson is a self-taught macro photographer. She uses an Olympus OM-1 and the M. Zuiko 60mm Macro lens. Her favourite photography moments are capturing the gloriously flowering Grass Trees (X. australis) of Wilson’s Promontory N.P., focusing a lens on the red hues of the bark of huge River Red Gums (E. camaldulensis) in Ikara-Flinders Ranges N.P., and getting snowed on amongst the Snow Gums (E. pauciflora) of Kosciuszko N.P. during summer!

  • Giulio's journey from childhood nature enthusiast to Environmental Economics graduate and ecological restoration expert. Passionate about land management and sustainability.

    Giulio De Rensis

Giulio is passionate about connecting with nature and has been since childhood—his early days were spent in the great outdoors, engaging in both playful exploration and entrepreneurial ventures. Raised in a family that valued nature through activities like hiking and gardening, and with experience running a family restaurant, Giulio's love for the environment and business began to intertwine from a young age. His curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit flourished with pursuits ranging from fishkeeping, where he bred rare species, to initiating a business selling sunglasses.

As he matured, Giulio's interests led him to pursue a degree in Environmental Economics at James Cook University, where his academic journey was enriched by the contrasting landscapes of the Gold Coast rainforests and the seasonal eucalypt forests of Townsville. Although a shift in his master's program direction compelled him to explore new avenues, Giulio's zeal found a fresh outlet in a bush regeneration course, sparking an intense focus on plant ecology and environmental systems.

Giulio's commitment to learning is unparalleled; he dedicates himself to studying a new plant daily, engaging with local landcare groups, experts, and indigenous knowledge. This continuous pursuit of knowledge has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of land management. His fieldwork across Southeast Australia's national parks and in ecological restoration projects reflects his dedication.

Today, Giulio is motivated by the vision of revitalising country to its natural health, believing in the positive ripple effects this has on business and biodiversity. His belief is that with tailored care, every piece of country can be restored, and he aspires to inspire others to join in this mission. Giulio invites you to reach out and explore the potential for your garden, land, or office space to contribute to this vision of ecological health and harmony.
